A Message from the Principal

Greetings,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Capital City Alternative School. I along with my administrative team are energized and committed to providing our scholars an “Alternative to Greater Possibilities”.   We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children, providing behavior support systems, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment that nurtures academic diversity.  Please know that the administrative team, teachers, and other staff members will work diligently each day, to ensure that we provide the best instructional experience for the scholars who are enrolled.

Capital City Alternative School is established as a secure and structured alternative environment for scholars to continue their educational progress while away from their home school. In addition to our work toward scholars’ academic success, we also provide experiences that will address the social needs of our scholars. In addition to dedicated teachers, our staff includes a team of behavior specialists and a school social worker that are available to scholars and parents regarding resources and social-emotional support. 

As the district refines its focus “Excellence for All”, our expectation is that all scholars are present each day, prepared for learning, and adhere to all school expectations. Our goal is to provide “greater possibilities “in order to ensure excellence for all scholars. Parents and scholars are encouraged to participate on the CCAS Community Council committee.
